200-pound therapy dog helps elementary school children

Rockingham County, Va. – Move over Clifford the Big Red Dog, elementary school children at one school in Virginia have a real-life version, a 200-pound therapy dog named Gabe.

Gabriel serves as a therapy dog at River Bend Elementary School. Students write letters to Gabriel about why they need extra time with the massive canine. While Gabriel may be shocking to some, he’s just a regular part of the classroom for these children who love on him and take on extra responsibilities.
