Canine distemper case confirmed at Morristown Hamblen Humane Society

MORRISTOWN, Tenn. – A dog at the Morristown Hamblen Humane Society (MHHS) has been diagnosed with canine distemper, according to a release from the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture.

Officials said director Pam Velder submitted samples to the virology laboratory at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine and based on the timeline of the dog’s admission and symptoms, the dog came into the shelter already infected.
