CANTON, CT – A dog that was abandoned and struck by a car has been adopted by the DEEP officer who rescued him.
Tony, a dog found abandoned in a crate in the woods near Rt 44 and Sterling Drive on July 17, was hit by a car while trying to cross the road.
After being rescued, he underwent successful surgery on July 18, which included the removal of one of his eyes. He was placed in a medical foster home, which belonged to the officer who initially saved him.
