Austin, TX – Espy, a pit bull mix who had faced rejection and seemed to have given up hope of being adopted, has found a new lease on life.
Initially adopted as a puppy, Espy was returned to the Austin Animal Center in March 2023, where he struggled with stress and isolation, even refusing to greet visitors. His situation improved after being transferred to Austin Pets Alive!, where he received more attention.
A TikTok post about his plight went viral, resulting in over 50 adoption applications. Ultimately, Espy was adopted by a dog lover named Ted, and although he will need time to adjust, he is now excited to start a happy life with his new companion.
@goodboygonehome Thank you to everyone who followed, shared, and liked his story! Especially all you who applied to adopt him, Newsweek for covering his story, his amazing volunteer bestie who took him to his new home, @Austin Pets Alive! for #saving him, and MOST OF ALL his new family! #espy #viraldogsoftiktok #longstay #austin #tx #austinpetsalive #adoptdontshop #adopted #happy #finally ♬ You Found Me – Instrumental Pop Songs & Kris Farrow
