Meet Hex, North Dakota’s first electronic detection dog

Hex, which is short for Hexadecimal, received his badge from the Bureau of Criminal Investigation on Monday, Dec.2  after nearly six months of training.

The 2-year-old Lab will be the newest addition to North Dakota’s BCI Unit and first-ever electronic detection K9 in the state, and will be one of 30 dogs that have been deployed across the U.S. to help with child pornography and other internet crime cases involving children. Jesse Smith is not only his partner but will be with Hex 24/7, seven days a week.
