SPCA: More than 800 animals rescued from Santa Fe pet store investigated multiple times for animal cruelty

SANTA FE, TX – On Thursday, over 800 animals were rescued from THE LIST Pet Store in Santa Fe, Texas, following multiple animal cruelty investigations, according to the Houston SPCA.

The rescue involved a range of animals, including puppies, kittens, and reptiles.

The SPCA stated that despite several chances for the store to improve conditions, persistent neglect led to the intervention.

A court hearing is scheduled for next week to determine custody of the animals, while the investigation continues without any charges filed so far.

The SPCA receives more than 8,000 animal cruelty reports annually.
