CUMBERLAND, RI – A Cumberland family’s dog, Waylon, has found himself in the national spotlight in an unexpected way.
Amy Lacroix, Waylon’s mom, responded to a Facebook ad from IAMS seeking overweight beagles and sent in a photo of Waylon. To her surprise, he was selected to advance to the next round. This led to a giant replica of Waylon being featured in a commercial promoting IAMS’ healthy dog initiative, which addresses the issue of overweight dogs in America.
Thanks to exercise and a new diet, Waylon has lost four pounds and is now more comfortable in front of the camera. His family has enjoyed the experience, working with great people and visiting exciting places. Waylon continues to appear in IAMS promotions, but the family says he is now ready for a well-deserved rest.
