West Palm Beach, FL – Rusty, an elderly Lab/Chow mix, is now living his “best life” in Florida after being rescued from nearly a decade of neglect in North Carolina.
Chained in a small pen, Rusty was visited regularly by PETA, who provided food, toys, and medical care, but his owner refused to surrender him. After 10 years of persistence, Rusty was finally surrendered to PETA in July 2024.
Now enjoying his retirement, Rusty celebrated with a party and is finally experiencing the love and comfort he deserves. PETA is glad he’s found a better life, despite his former owner’s belief they were doing their best.
