Beloved therapy dog who cheered up Sparrow patients, staff dies at 14

LANSING, Mich. – Murphy, the beloved labradoodle who cheered up patients at Sparrow Hospital for about a decade, has died.

Murphy had a degenerative hind leg disease and was battling lung cancer. He was 14.

News 10′s David Andrews featured Murphy and Martha in a Make an Impact Story in March, highlighting the dynamic duo’s impact that touched thousands of people by comforting stressed hospital staff and nervous patients.
