South Africa’s famous anti-poaching hero – an award-winning dog by the name of Killer – was sadly put down on June 5 after long illness.
The Belgian Malinois and his handler worked together with the Kruger National Park’s Special Operations team to prevent rhinoceros poachers. Their nearly two hundred arrests were just the tip of the iceberg.
On 6 January 2016, Killer was awarded a PDSA Gold Medal for his anti-poaching work. Amos Mizmba is the owner of K9 Killer.
