Hearts of Gold looking for foster homes for service dog puppies

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Have you ever wondered how service dogs get trained to help out people with disabilities? One of the answers is the Morgantown-based program Hearts of Gold, and it needs your help.

Hearts of Gold is currently looking for households to foster service dog puppies until they’re old enough to begin their training. Those who foster will keep the dog for a year to give them proper socialization. After the year is up, the household will give the dog back to Hearts of Gold, who will then train the dog to work with veterans with mobility issues or people with PTSD.
