Kansas City dog in running for ‘Hero Dog’ award for comforting other dogs

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City dog is in the running for a national hero dog award but not for saving a human. For this dog, it’s about saving other dogs.

The dog’s owner says Bliss seems to understand when other dogs are feeling scared or overwhelmed. Because of her efforts, so they can get adopted.

Bliss the 7-year-old Labrador and Australian shepherd mix is one of 300 dogs nationally vying for the title of Hero Dog of 2022.

If you’d like to vote, visit HeroDogAwards.org and search for Bliss in the shelter dog category. The first round of voting ends May 18.
