Stamford Health Welcomes First-Ever Facility Therapy Dog, Harrison

STAMFORD, CT – Harrison, a 2-year-old, 80-pound golden retriever, is the newest Stamford Health employee and the first-ever full-time therapy dog in the facility.The  canine has been hired to be a part of the health organization’s patient experience team. 

Per a news release, Harrison has been training just about his whole life for the job, as he has been in specialized pediatric and adult patient care lessons for two years to date. He is trained to respond to more than 50 different cues to support patients in areas such as physical rehabilitation, behavioral health, emergency medicine and pediatrics, among others.
