SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. – A bronze tribute to Chaser the Border Collie, known as the world’s smartest dog, was unveiled in Morgan Square Monday morning, May 10, 2021.
Chaser, “the world’s smartest dog,” was a native of Spartanburg who had a vocabulary of 1,000 words. Wofford College professor emeritus of psychology Dr. John Pilley worked with his dog Chaser and published journals on animal intelligence.
