Tufts Cummings School doctor's revolutionary surgery saves dog with oversized tongue.GRAFTON, Mass. – At first glance, Bentley seems like a normal healthy 2-year-old pit bull terrier. But a closer look shows he was born with a rare condition where his tongue was too large for his head.

“The tongue was probably two times bigger than it normally should have been,” said Dr. Raymond Kudej, a veterinary surgeon and professor at Tufts University’s Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in Grafton.

The never-before performed procedure to remove a significant amount of Bentley’s enlarged tongue was a success.
