Video: Missing family pet and Good Samaritan rescued after dog falls from bluff

Russellville, AR – A heartwarming rescue in Russellville on Tuesday, July 25th, brought a missing dog home safely to her owners, thanks to the quick actions of two Good Samaritans and emergency responders.

The miniature golden retriever had gone missing earlier in the day, and after hours of searching, she was found stranded on a steep bluff.

The dog’s owners, after hearing her barking in the distance, learned she was stuck about 25 feet down the bluff. Two men launched a boat and reached her, but the steep terrain made it impossible for them to safely climb back with the dog.

A 911 call was made, and Pope County EMS and a Battalion Chief quickly responded. The Battalion Chief rappelled down the bluff, helped the man and dog back up, and they were safely transported home.

The dog was reunited with her owners, who were grateful to all involved in the rescue. The dog was thirsty but unharmed, and the Good Samaritans and responders were thanked by the family and neighbors.
