Las Vegas dog missing for 9 years finally returns home

Las Vegas, NV – Wandering on a windy, cold Las Vegas street Gizmo, a 2-year-old chihuahua mix, whimpered for his family while hunting for a way back home, and fortunately after nine years his loved ones never gave up hope.

Gizmo went missing in Las Vegas after escaping from his home in 2015. Despite extensive efforts by his owner, Judy Monarrez, including flyers, social media posts, and community outreach, Gizmo remained lost for nine years. Monarrez’s mother, who adored Gizmo, suffered greatly from his absence.

After years of searching and nearly giving up hope, Monarrez received an unexpected email from a pet microchip company informing her that Gizmo had been found at an animal shelter in Henderson. Overwhelmed with emotion, Monarrez rushed to reunite with Gizmo, who was found in poor condition but alive.

Despite the challenges of Gizmo’s physical state and the financial strain of his medical care, Monarrez and her family are ecstatic to have him back home. They are now focused on ensuring Gizmo’s health and happiness after his long ordeal. The reunion has brought immense joy and relief to the family, considering it a miraculous return after so many years.
