Snickers, the blind rescue dog has a new name, home

CLEVELAND, OH – We have a happy ending to the “tail” of a blind pup named Snickers.

Snickers, a blind pitbull mix, faced a tough start when he was surrendered to a shelter and deemed “unadoptable” due to his blindness.

Fortunately, a volunteer from One At A Time Rescue intervened, and Snickers was placed in the care of Megan Wessels, a certified professional dog trainer.

Despite his blindness, Snickers thrived under Wessels’ care, earning AKC titles and learning quickly.

Though adoption took time, the right opportunity came when Olive Faulkner, a passionate advocate for special needs dogs, learned about Snickers. The Faulkners, who run a fear-free veterinary practice, decided to adopt him.

Snickers, now renamed Healey, adapted seamlessly to his new home and continues to thrive, demonstrating his sweet and adaptable nature. Both Wessels and the Faulkners are thrilled with Healey’s happy ending.
