Family dog missing three years makes tail-wagging return home in Tennessee

Every once in a while you hear one of those incredible stories where a dog goes missing and then years later, it’s found.

Winston, a King Charles Cavalier owned by Wanda Burchfield, went missing three years ago while she was doing a Zoom Bible study.

After he escaped, sightings of him were reported miles away, but despite extensive efforts to find him—including flyers, Facebook groups, drones, and a bloodhound—Winston remained lost.

Months turned into years, and the Burchfields lost hope. However, they were thrilled to receive a call from a King Cavalier Rescue, which had Winston in East Nashville after he had escaped multiple times from his temporary caretaker.

The emotional reunion brought immense relief and joy to the Burchfield family. They quickly had Winston chipped and are grateful for his safe return, believing that a dog truly is a man’s best friend.
