HONOLULU, HI – After flying for hours, a young German Shepherd named Nutmeg touched down in Honolulu, where she was greeted with lei and a new family.
Five months ago, Nutmeg was at risk of euthanasia due to overcrowding at a shelter. Dr. Silke Henrichson spotted her on a rescue page and, with the help of rescue organizations, prevented her from being euthanized.
After undergoing necessary quarantine and health checks, Nutmeg was brought to Hawaii by Rescue Kitties of Hawaii, which usually focuses on relocating cats.
Now, Nutmeg enjoys a new home and a hopeful future, thanks to the efforts of dedicated volunteers.
