Meet Remy, 1 of just 100 “cyber dogs” in the U.S.

NEW YORK, NY – A unique new crime fighter named Remy, a specially trained “cyber dog,” is helping law enforcement in their efforts to combat crime in Rockland County.

Remy, a black lab, has an extraordinary ability to detect the odor of electronic devices, such as flash drives and smartphones, due to a chemical compound used in their production. Her keen nose allows her to find hidden devices that might be crucial to criminal investigations. She is one of only 100 cyber dogs in the U.S. and is registered with the Department of Homeland Security.

Remy’s red bandana honors Welles Remy Crowther, the “man in the red bandana” who heroically helped others during 9/11. His mother expressed pride that Remy’s dedication mirrors her son’s mission to never give up.
