Firefighters in Worley, Idaho, rescue puppy stuck in culvert pipe

WORLEY, ID – Firefighters in Worley, Idaho, successfully rescued a puppy named Charlie from a culvert pipe, where he was stuck about 40 feet down.

The rescue, which occurred on September 14, involved community members digging to expose the culvert and an excavator for assistance.

Unable to fit in the pipe, firefighters used peanut butter and a PVC pipe with a “pet loop” to coax Charlie out, who was stuck at a joint.

The Coeur d’Alene Fire Department provided a fiber optic camera that helped locate the puppy.

The firefighters expressed gratitude to the community and collaborating agencies for their support in the rescue effort.
