WAYLAND, MI – A black lab named Coby from Wayland, Michigan,is one of the finalists for the 2024 Hero Dog Awards presented by American Humane.
Coby was nominated after saving his hearing-impaired partner from a speeding firetruck in 2023. Beyond his heroic act, Coby has helped his partner engage with the community, fostering new relationships.
Public voting is open until October 9, with winners announced on October 15. Coby is also among the top five dogs in the service, hearing, and guide dog category.
