BREVARD COUNTY, FL – A dog named Dale was reunited with his owner, Christine Jankowski, after being missing for nearly two years.
Dale was stolen by a home health aide on the Space Coast, and despite Christine’s efforts to locate him, including filing a police report and distributing flyers, he was found safe in Georgia, 535 days later.
The reunion was made possible due to Dale being microchipped, which allowed authorities to confirm his identity. A stranger named Mary, who had been helping with the search by posting flyers, was ecstatic to hear the news of Dale’s recovery. Despite the alleged thief’s attempts to reclaim him, Christine had all necessary documentation to prove ownership.
Dale returned home needing medical care and grooming after his ordeal, but Christine expressed immense joy at having him back. She advised others to utilize social media for lost pet searches, emphasizing the importance of community support.
