A courageous K-9 saves the day after 3-year-old gets lost in a corn maze

ERIE TOWNSHIP, MI – A K-9 from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department rescued a missing 3-year-old boy from a corn maze at Erie Orchard on September 3.

K-9 Deputy Bane found the child in about three minutes, tracking him over a quarter of a mile using a swimsuit as a scent article. Deputy Jack Hall praised Bane’s quick work, noting it was his fastest recovery yet.

The boy’s family chose to remain anonymous, but a witness expressed relief and gratitude for the dog’s successful recovery.

Bane, trained as a bite dog, demonstrated the importance of training and commands, ensuring the child’s safe return without incident.
