STEVENS COUNTY, WA – In a heartwarming tale of loyalty and bravery, a 13-year-old rescue dog named Gita became a hero by saving her 84-year-old owner after he fell and was injured at home.
On September 25, Deputy Wright discovered Gita sitting in the middle of a rural road without any nearby residences. When efforts to get her into his vehicle failed, Wright followed Gita as she led him to a small cabin, where he found the elderly man lying on the ground, calling for help.
The man had been there for hours and needed urgent medical attention. Authorities praised Gita’s loyalty and heroism, crediting her with saving her owner’s life.
