Washington, DC – A 3-month-old puppy named Pepper has been reunited with her family after being stolen from a boat docked in Navy Yard.
The Metropolitan Police Department reported that Pepper is in good condition. She was returned by a good Samaritan who unknowingly purchased her from an online ad.
Edward Matthews, Pepper’s owner, had secured the Cane Corso puppy in the boat while dining in the area on October 11, when the theft occurred. Matthews posted flyers, and the police shared photos of Pepper to help locate her.
The investigation is ongoing, with a reward of up to $1,000 offered for information leading to the arrest of the thief.
