Palmdale, CA – Eight Shepherd puppies were rescued from under a burning car in Palmdale, California, by firefighters last week.
The 5-week-old pups were taken to the Best Friends Animal Society for medical care after being found in the fire. Two of the puppies, Whip and Wheely, were placed in the organization’s neonatal intensive care unit due to their small size, while the others were sent to foster homes.
The NICU pups are receiving specialized care and are expected to be available for adoption in December.
