PALM COAST, FL – A dog in a Florida canal was rescued after getting stuck in the water, thanks to the quick actions of a passerby and Flagler County deputies.
The incident began when a neighbor, sitting on their porch, heard a splash and saw the dog swimming in the canal but unable to get out. The neighbor alerted authorities, and deputies quickly responded to the scene in the Palm Coast neighborhood.
When deputies arrived, a citizen in a kayak tried to help but struggled as the dog kept swimming away. A deputy then jumped into the water and successfully pulled the dog to safety. The dog was later taken to Animal Control and reunited with its owner.
