World’s first dog-friendly cruise to set sail in 2025

Tampa, FL – A new dog-friendly cruise, Margaritaville at Sea, will set sail from Port Tampa Bay in November 2025, offering dog owners and their pets the chance to travel together.

The cruise, a partnership between Cruise Tails and Expedia Cruises of West Orlando, will accommodate up to 250 dogs and their owners. To join, pet owners must apply and provide documentation proving their dogs are healthy and vaccinated. Once approved, dogs can enjoy grooming, massages, and splash stations on board.

The cruise will feature dog-centric activities like shows, training sessions, and costume contests, as well as gifts from vendors. Each dog will have a “pet butler” to assist with cabin cleanliness and provide access to private toilets on their balconies. While dogs are welcome in many areas of the ship, certain zones like the casino, dining areas, and spa will remain dog-free. The exact dates and pricing for the cruise are yet to be announced.
