Waterbury, CT – On Christmas Eve, three sisters in Waterbury had their wish come true when they met John, a therapy dog with the Meriden Police Department, who spreads joy at various events and crime scenes.
The sisters had learned about John through a profile piece on News 8. When Officer Stephanie Masella brought John to meet them, the sisters were delighted by his friendly, sweet nature. Masella and John often work to comfort people, including children at crime scenes and officers dealing with trauma.
Leah Foley, who had seen the story, recognized that John resembled a puppy named Landon that she had raised to become a seeing-eye dog. After reaching out to Masella, she learned that John and Landon were brothers. This connection led to the heartwarming Christmas Eve meeting, which Masella described as a fulfilling moment, perfectly timed for the holiday season.
