Las Vegas, NV – Three animals—two dogs and a turtle—have been reunited and are now under the care of a rescue group after surviving a fiery motor home crash on a Las Vegas interstate earlier this week.
The crash, which occurred on Monday, involved a collision with a semitruck that caused the motor home to burst into flames and shut down I-15 for 16 hours.
Chloe and Jim, the two dogs, were separated during the chaos but were joyfully reunited after the crash. Jim, along with the turtle, was found at the scene with injuries, while Chloe, who bolted from the fire, was rescued two miles away.
The turtle suffered shell damage, and Jim sustained burns to his hind limbs. Chloe had the most severe injuries, including burnt front paws, singed whiskers, and facial lacerations. She is receiving emergency care and lots of love at Horizon Ridge Animal Hospital, where her recovery is underway.
