ATMORE, AL – The Atmore Police Department has introduced two K-9 officers, Bama and Bantu, to enhance public safety and combat crime.
The K-9 unit was established through donations from the community, covering the costs for the dogs, equipment, training, and healthcare.
Bama will focus on narcotics detection and community education, while Bantu will track and detain suspects.
Mayor Jim Staff expressed optimism about the positive impact these K-9s will have on public safety in Atmore.
