Bodycam video shows Florida officer rescue dog locked in hot car

BRADENTON, FL – Police bodycam video shows how an officer rescued a dog from a hot car in Bradenton, Florida.

The pup was found locked in the car, which was not running and had the windows cracked less than an inch, in the city about 46 miles south of Tampa on Monday.

Concerned for the dog’s safety in the scorching heat, the officer broke a window to free the panting animal, who was visibly relieved upon being released.

The temperature outside was around 90 degrees Fahrenheit, with warnings from authorities that such conditions can quickly escalate to dangerous levels inside a vehicle.

Despite the owner being located, the dog remained in the custody of Animal Services while an investigation ensued, highlighting the importance of not leaving pets unattended in cars during hot weather.
