Border Patrol Canine Academy’s K-9 grads prepared for duty after rigorous training

K-9 trainees at Fort Bliss are set to graduate 66 trainees and their dogs on Friday from the Border Patrol Canine Academy.

“We do a selection test to make sure these dogs have the critical drives to be able to do our job,” said Border Patrol Agent Jaime Lopez.

Lopez said the Academy has roughly 180 dogs in their kennels for federal, state, and local authorities to take advantage of, after training.
