Dog finally safe after 555 days of wandering in Massachusetts

WORCESTER, MA – A loose dog is finally in a foster home after being on the run in Worcester for 555 days. Trappers with Missing Dogs Massachusetts (MDM) have been at this for 19 months.

Gracie, formerly known as Roxy, is a dog who has spent 555 days on the run in Worcester before finally finding a foster home. After being initially adopted from a breeder in Massachusetts, she went missing on February 10, 2023.

Despite numerous attempts by Missing Dogs Massachusetts (MDM) volunteers to trap her, including feeding her for months and using trail cameras, she remained elusive.

Gracie was eventually caught in May after being seen limping by a neighbor. She is now in the care of Shelly Duprey, a foster parent with PAWS New England.

Gracie is scared and has been hiding but is expected to recover with time and medical care for injuries likely caused by a car. MDM will cover her medical expenses, and donations are being accepted to support her care.
