Dog named ‘Roxi’ found with note on side of Long Island highway

A dog named ‘Roxi’ is looking for a home after being left on the side of a Long Island highway on Monday.

Roxi, a white female English mastiff, was found tied to a pole with a note and a bowl of food indicating she is four years old, had been fed, and received a flea bath, though may still have issues with fleas.

Roxi was taken to the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter where she is reportedly in good condition. Authorities are seeking information about the abandonment, which can be considered animal cruelty.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the police at (631) 756-3300.
