Dog rescued by Peoria-area snowplow driver

PEORIA, Ill. – A dog was rescued from the frigid cold temperatures that froze Central Illinois last week.

Paisley, a two-year-old Dachshund, was rescued by a snowplow driver who saw her in an outdoor kennel at the Peoria County Animal Protection Services (PCAPS) while plowing the property overnight, said Laurie Bushnell, president of Foster Pet Outreach.

Bushnell said Paisley was taken to the PCAPS outdoor kennels with her belongings at night while no staff members were there, so she was left in the subzero temperatures and snow.
