Dog reunited with his family over two years after going missing in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO  – The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR) shared a “happy tail” about how the Colorado community reunited a missing pup with his family over two years later.

Bear, a Colorado family’s dog, was with a pet sitter in April 2022 when he got loose. HSPPR said the family reported Bear as missing and looked everywhere but couldn’t find him.

The family, who had to move to New York due to military obligations, had given up hope of finding Bear. However, in July 2024, a sighting of Bear led to a search effort by volunteers and the Humane Society.

After two years, Bear was found and confirmed to be the missing dog. The community in Colorado generously funded Bear’s trip to be reunited with his family in New York.
