LEEDS, Ala. – A dog attacked with a machete is expected to make a full recovery, despite life-threatening injuries.
The Greater Birmingham Human Society said they received a call from the Leeds Police Department to help save a dog’s life after it was allegedly struck by a teenager.
“Sadly, animal abuse cases are not uncommon, but this was one of the most disturbing cases of abuse we have ever seen,” said Allison Black Cornelius, Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Birmingham Humane Society.
The dog, named Finn, was taken to an emergency vet hospital where he received more than 100 stitches and a life-saving surgery.
