Former foster dog Mae helping cancer patients at Ohio hospital

After being fostered by FOX 5 and trained by Canine Assistants, Mae is now serving as a facility dog at University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center.

Rev. Joanna Sowards, a chaplain at the hospital, is Mae’s primary handler and has praised Mae for her incredible impact.

As one of only 150 highly trained facility dogs in the country, Mae provides comfort to cancer patients during tough treatments and boosts staff morale.

Despite her new role in Cleveland, Mae remains connected to her roots in Georgia, with Good Day Atlanta promising to keep fans updated on her progress.
