From near death to family: Central Arkansas couple uses wedding fund to save Goldendoodle

LITTLE ROCK, AR – In a selfless act of compassion, Dylan McCay and his fiancé, Emily Roberts, rescued an injured Goldendoodle in central Arkansas on Halloween night, giving her a second chance at life.

While scrolling through Facebook, McCay came across a post about an injured dog abandoned by the side of the road. He rushed to the scene, found the dog in critical condition, and took her to the hospital, where vets discovered two fractured femurs and bruised lungs. With no microchip and no identifiable owner, McCay and Roberts decided to adopt her.

Despite the $10,000 surgery, they used their wedding fund to cover the costs. After a successful operation, both of the dog’s legs were repaired. Named after a food item, with “Acklin” as a middle name for the street where she was found, the dog is now a beloved member of their family and on the road to recovery.
