Hurricane Milton: Dog left tied to fence rescued by Florida state troopers

WESLEY CHAPEL, FL – As Hurricane Milton approached Florida, Highway Patrol troopers rescued a dog found tied to a pole on Interstate 75, standing in chest-deep water.

A video shared on social media showed a trooper reassuring the frightened dog. The Florida Highway Patrol condemned the abandonment, urging pet owners to keep their animals safe.

Governor Ron DeSantis also criticized the owner, emphasizing the cruelty of leaving a pet in such conditions and promising accountability for mistreatment. Meanwhile, officials warned Tampa Bay residents to evacuate due to the hurricane’s imminent threat.
