Tallahassee, FL – A five-year-old bull terrier, now named “Trooper,” captured hearts after being rescued by Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Orlando Morales.
Trooper had been found tied to a fence along Interstate 75 in Tampa just before Hurricane Milton hit. His rescue was widely shared on social media, and Trooper’s fate took a positive turn when he was adopted into a loving home.
Trooper was introduced to his new owners, Frank and Carla, who were a perfect match. He quickly bonded with them and with his new dog companion, Dallas, a seven-year-old rescue miniature bull terrier. Their first meeting was described as “love at first sight,” and Trooper now enjoys a happy life with his new family.
Trooper’s original owner, Giovanny Aldama Garcia, has been charged with aggravated animal cruelty after admitting to abandoning Trooper while fleeing to Georgia during the storm. Garcia will be arraigned on December 18.
