K-9s and handlers show off skills at public demonstration event in North Dakota

WILLISTON, N.D. – The Mondak Animal Rescue Shelter and the North Dakota Law Enforcement Canine Association partnered to put on a demonstration of what K-9 Units do to help law enforcement.

A packed crowd attended the first annual Great Basin Dog Competition in Williston Tuesday night. People had a chance to meet K-9 dogs from various departments across western North Dakota and eastern Montana. The handlers showed how valuable the dogs are by having them detect narcotics in packages and chase down suspects.
