METAIRIE, LA – A Metairie woman, Gracie Langham, was reunited with her emotional support dog, Mav, thanks to a viral social media campaign.
Mav had run off after a car crash on Halloween, when Langham lost control of her vehicle in wet conditions. Despite her frantic search, Mav fled the scene.
After Langham appealed for help online, the community rallied behind her, and Mav was spotted in Pensacola, Florida, more than a week later. Langham traveled to meet the person who had Mav, and the dog was returned home safely.
Mav’s microchip and a $5,750 reward offered by the Humane Society of Louisiana helped with the search. Langham expressed gratitude to the community for their support, and Mav is now being checked by a vet.
