Columbus, OH – An Ohio State University therapy dog is receiving special recognition for his service.
Shiloh, a 7-year-old golden retriever and one of the founding members of the Buckeye Paws therapy dog program at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, was honorarily promoted to the military rank of Captain in a ceremony on November 8, 2024, at the Ohio State Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital.
Shiloh, who previously received a First Lieutenant patch in January 2022, was promoted by Captain Greg Geisler of the Ohio Air National Guard. If the pace of his promotions continues, Shiloh could reach the rank of honorary four-star general in about 19 years.
