Nanna, an 18-year-old blind and deaf dog, embarked on a remarkable journey with her human, Abe Switters. Their bond began in Nashville, where Switters, who worked at the shelter, took a liking to Nanna despite her grim prognosis. Over time, Switters nursed her back to health, and they eventually moved to St. Paul, starting a mission to walk every bridge in the Twin Cities.
Despite her disabilities, Nanna thrived under Switters’ care, reaching milestones like completing a 10K walk. After her eyes had to be removed, Switters helped her adjust, and they continued their adventures. Nanna’s reaction to crossing bridges, captured by Switters on social media, garnered attention and inspired thousands.
