Military working dog reunited with former trainer at Lemoore Naval Air Station

LEMOORE, CA – Paws of War reunited a military working dog with its former trainer at Lemoore Naval Air Station on Monday.

Carlos Aranda and Military Training Dog Donnie worked together for three years in Norfolk, Virginia, before Aranda was reassigned to Lemoore Naval Air Station.

Aranda, who was a new handler, credits Donnie with teaching him valuable skills and shaping his handling abilities. After Aranda’s departure, Donnie sustained a leg injury on duty, leading to his medical retirement last month.

During his service, Donnie conducted numerous explosive sweeps and provided security for the President. Upon learning of Donnie’s retirement, Aranda contacted Paws for War to adopt him.

Nicki Dawson from the organization arranged Donnie’s transport and emphasized their commitment to covering Donnie’s medical and care needs for the rest of his life.
