New Jersey Now Has A New State Dog

Gov. Phil Murphy signed a bill Tuesday that names the “Seeing Eye ” dog as the official state dog of New Jersey.

Twelve states have designated state dogs, but New Jersey is the first to designate the guide dogs as a state animal. The inspiration for the new state dog comes from “Seeing Eye“. As the oldest guide dog school in America, The Seeing Eye organization has successfully trained and paired 17,000 dogs with blind owners, and the school has been operating since 1929.
